Laura Stanyer is a performer, choreographer, dance film-maker and is the creator of the Power Dance System. Her experience includes over 10 years producing work with a distinctive fusion of dance styles and other physical disciplines including stage combat. She works with a mixture of contexts; dance, abstract solos, film, theatre and site-specific.

Power Dance System has been developed through years of research, exploration of human movement and dedicating herself to creating a holistic way of working in dance. Laura offers Power Dance System workshops and courses across Hertfordshire and North London.

Qualifications and training:
Laura is a qualified sports massage therapist and RSA qualified fitness instructor with a BA (Hons) in Dance from Middlesex University.

Teaching:
Laura works with dancers and performing artists and has lectured and gave practical workshops in Anatomy and Physiology for Dance in London Contemporary Dance School, London Studio Centre & Laban. Focused on the musculoskeletal system and assessed physical alignment and muscular imbalances, highlighting the importance of injury prevention, health and fitness for dance. Age groups served 16+.

Workshops:
The Power Dance System is based on the key aspects of human movement and dance working with scientific fitness principles, visualisation skills and massage. Offering practical workshops for the professional dancer and dance students is the ultimate tool kit to awaken your true potential in dance and expression.
Age groups served 16+.

Film Work:
Let it Flow - Dance short film, a playful expression of joy, deconstructing movement through in-camera and in-edit choreography. Original digital soundscape merges with dance (2006).
Moments in Motion - Probing the juxtaposition of physical action, tension and stillness see an artistic view of Laura's action and creative work (2005).
