The Market takes place on Saturdays, fortnightly, at the Cattle Market, Brook Street, Tring from 9.00 to 1.00pm on the following dates in 2008:
September 13th & 27th;
October 11th & 25th;
November 8th and 22nd;
December 6th and 20th.
The Market operates on the same Saturday as the Auctions.
Tring Farmers Market is continuing to thrive since it was declared open on 29th May 1999 by TV presenter John Craven. By coincidence it was also the 29th Farmers Market in the UK and the first in Hertfordshire.
The market was started by Tring Environmental Forum as a means of aiding local farm production by giving producers an outlet for their goods. From the start the diversity of product and quality was surprisingly high.
The market currently attracts people selling fresh vegetables, lamb, beef, pork, eggs, cakes, bread, organic chicken, cheese, sausages, sushi, honey, cards, plants and preserves, with fresh fruit and other produce making seasonal appearances.
