Investors in People (Iip)
IiP involves looking at the impact that investing in developing our employees is having on our being able to achieve our aims. All our departments and some of our individual establishments either have, or are preparing for the award. The process of planning and preparing for the submission is good for helping us improve on what we do in learning and development. Since it has to be regularly renewed this means that we are continuously working on improving our performance.
For IiP an external assessor comes into HCC to look at the results we have achieved in four main areas measured against a national standard:
- Our commitment to developing people to achieve our aims
- Our planning, to ensure that people know what our aims are and what they need to do to achieve them
- Our actions to make sure we do what we say and deliver what we promise
- How well we do evaluation to make sure that learning and development does add value to individuals, teams and the organisation as a whole
