Developing People

Development is very important to us in Hertfordshire County Council. We are committed to giving all employees the opportunity to learn, achieve a high standard of performance and enhance their career prospects. We have a Development Charter, which openly gives everybody an entitlement to induction, performance management and learning and development opportunities, including training.

How successful we are in delivering on our promise in the Charter is measured as part of a yearly survey we do of staff opinions on their treatment within HCC. Being awarded the Investors in people badge by independent assessors is also important to us.
