Volunteer Supporters Network

Hertfordshire County Council is committed to creating a working environment where every employee is treated with dignity and respect, also where each person's individuality and sense of self worth within the workplace is maintained. The council aims to ensure that the working environment is one in which harassment is unacceptable and in which any employee who feels that they are being harassed is able to complain, without fear of being victimised or isolated.

The council has a network of Volunteer Supporters, who offer support, listen and provide advice to those involved in a harassment complaint. The Volunteer Supporters will provide a sounding board and provide impartial advice with particular emphasis on informal resolution. Our Volunteer Supporters receive full training for their role and meet as a group at Volunteer Supporters Network days to refresh their skills and share learnings.
