Roles within the planning department
Head of Department
Oversees the work of the department, also liases with senior stakeholders to ensure that government/council policy is turned in to action.
Policy Team Leader
Development Control Team Leader
In charge of the team responsible for planning permission applications for mineral extraction, waste disposal or the County Council’s own developments.
Sustainability Team Leader
The team leader works to make Hertfordshire a more sustainable county. The role is varied.
Planning Officer
The main responsibilities revolve around dealing with planning applications that the County Council is responsible for determining.
Enforcement Manager
The core objective of this role is to enforce conditions on planning permissions. Ensuring that any additional conditions imposed on an applicant are adhered to.
Restoration Manager
Following any major extraction work or where the landscape has been temporarily altered, the restoration manager ensures that the area in question is returned to its former condition.
Project Officers
Working with the District and Regional Councils on a number of projects effecting sustainability issues in Hertfordshire.
