To prepare, deliver and manage the catering service in a primary school.
Duties include:
Effective management of food, staff, cleaning materials and equipment
To undertake any occasional special, emergency or function catering
Work within and understand health & safety guidelines and hygiene regulations, ensuring the highest standards are adhered to
To promote the service through effective marketing and merchandising techniques
Work within financial targets and maintain correct unit records
To manage staff including the recruitment of new staff, identifying training needs, conducting on the job training and performance management
Motivate and lead the team
Skills & Abilities
The ability to organise tasks; manage a budget effectively; recruit and train staff; lead, motivate & organise a team of staff; communicate to customers and staff on all levels; work as part of a team; complete accurate records and attend meetings away from the unit.
This position is also available on a mobile basis where you will be required to use your own transport in order to provide cover in a range of schools in a defined area of Hertfordshire.
