Assistant Catering Manager

To prepare, cook and serve food as instructed by the Catering Manager in a secondary school.

Duties include:

  • Accurate cash handling
  • Assist with menu planning and the ordering of supplies
  • Work within and understand health & safety guidelines and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with cleaning tasks including general washing up
  • To complete any paperwork as required
  • Deputise in the absence of the Catering Manager


  • Skills & Abilities

    The ability to organise tasks; manage a budget effectively; lead, motivate & organise a team of staff; communicate to customers and staff on all levels; work as part of a team; cook to the required standard; complete accurate records and attend meetings away from the unit.
