Hertfordshire Forward

The Countywide LSP was formed in 2001 under the name Herts Together. It produced a community strategy for the county (2004-10) aimed at improving the well-being of Hertfordshire's residents.

Since then the context in which public services are delivered has changed. On 24 June 2005 the Herts Together Board decided that a new approach was needed to tackle the big issues facing Hertfordshire. The agreed new partnership includes:

• Changing the name of our Countywide LSP from Herts Together to Hertfordshire Forward.
• Changing the composition of the Board to make it smaller and more focussed, whilst strengthening the involvement of the business community and the Learning & Skills Council.
• Adapting the current 5 thematic partnerships of the Community Strategy to fit the 4 themes of Hertfordshire's Local Area Agreement (LAA) for which Hertfordshire Forward will be the lead body.

Hertfordshire Forward has been in existence since October 2005. Its 'core group' brings together all the key agencies in Hertfordshire responsible for improving outcomes for local people. As well as monitoring delivery of the Local Area Agreement, Hertfordshire Forward is currently developing a new 'sustainable community strategy' for the county to 2021.
