Plug-ins and Players

Some pages on hertsdirect include links to other file types. To view these files the appropriate reader software must be available on your computer.

To open and read Portable Document Format (.pdf) files, a Reader can be downloaded, free of charge, from the Adobe website: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

A Reader for files in Microsoft Word or Excel format can be downloaded free of charge from the Microsoft website.

A player for multimedia files can be downloaded free of charge fom the Microsoft website.

Please include details of the page in question, a description of the problem and details of the browser/operating system you are using.

Problems with a file ending in .pdf?

If you have a copy of the Acrobat Reader, but after clicking on one of the links you cannot open the document:
  • Try refreshing the page by pressing the "Ctrl" key with the "F5" key (or "shift" key with the "Reload" on some browsers) or
  • Use the right button on your mouse and select the name of the document then choose 'Save target as' and save it to your computer. You should then be able to open the document.
