What is a LINk?

The Government says that it recognises that health and social care services will only get better if the system listens and responds to the needs of the people who use them. An easy-read version of what LINks are meant to do is available on the Department of Health Website.

The new Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are being set up across England to make sure that everyone in the community – from individuals to voluntary groups – have the chance to:

• Say what they think about local health and social care services – what is working and what is not

• Influence how services are planned and run

• See how their feedback helps services to improve

Hertfordshire County Council is now working in partnership with a range of community groups to make sure a fully independent LINk is in place by September 2008.
