Proposed opening of speech and language base at Longdean School, Hemel Hempstead (Archived Consultation)

As part of its work to support children with special educational needs (SEN), the County Council wishes to extend its provision for children with speech and language difficulties in the secondary school sector. We proposed opening a Secondary Speech and Language Base for up to 30 pupils at Longdean School, Hemel Hempstead from 1 September 2005.

We consulted interested people, and the consultation closed on 20 December 2004. We received 58 responses, of which 54 agreed with the proposal. The County Council Cabinet approved the proposal at their meeting on 24 January 2005 and a statutory notice was published on 2 February 2005. No objections were received by the closing date on 16 March 2005 and the Director made the decision to proceed with the arrangements to open the base.
