Proposal to close Collenswood School, Stevenage (Archived Document)

The public consultation on the closure of Collenswood School and the expansion of Barnwell School ended on 31 January 2006.

The results of the consultation were considered by the County Council’s Education Panel at its meeting on 8 February 2006. The Panel decided to recommend to the County Council’s Cabinet that it publish a statutory notice to close the school from 31 August 2006. The County Council's Cabinet met on 21 February 2006 and took the decision to publish a statutory notice to close the school.

No formal objections had been received by the end of the statutory notice period (23 March 2006). The decision was taken by the Director of Children, Schools and Families under his delegated powers to close the school permanently from 31 August 2006.
