Latest Information

The proposal for the West area of Hemel Hempstead was considered by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA). The adjudicator does not support the County Council's proposal, and therefore the three schools remain as they are. The full determination is attached below as a PDF document.

The School Organisation Committee (SOC) met on 29 March 2007 and agreed the following proposals for the North East and North West areas of Hemel Hempstead:

North East: Amalgamation

Close Barncroft Primary School on 31 August 2008
Close Eastbrook Primary School on 31 August 2008
Open a new 1FE primary school on the Eastbrook site on 1 September 2008.

North West: Amalgamation

Close Martindale Primary School on 31 August 2008
Close Rossgate Primary School on 31 August 2008
Open a new 1.5FE primary school on the Rossgate site on 1 September 2008.

As there were no objections to the proposal for the East area of Hemel Hempstead the Director of CSF agrees the following proposal:

East: Amalgamation

Close Jupiter Drive Primary School on 31 August 2008
Close Bellgate Primary School on 31 August 2008
Open a new 2FE primary school on the Bellgate site on 1 September 2008.
