The review of surplus primary school places in Harpenden will not be going ahead.
The decision was taken following an assessment of the future impact of reception school places for 2008/9 in Harpenden, which took into account:
- applications for reception school places for 2008/9 which showed an increased number of first preference applications for Harpenden primary schools
- recent figures from the health service which showed an increase in the number of children registered at local GP practices.
There will not be any proposals brought forward for a formal public consultation. However, it is possible to make minor adjustments to some admission numbers through the annual admissions process.
