Hertfordshire's Sustainable Modes of Travel Strategy (SMoTS) for Schools and Colleges 2009/10

The Education and Inspections Act (2006) places a requirement on all local authorities to develop a Sustainable Modes of Travel Strategy (SMoTS) for schools and colleges. This strategy sets out the vision of Hertfordshire County Council to increase opportunities for children and young people to travel to, from and between schools and colleges by sustainable modes (walking, cycling, public transport and car-share).
The full strategy document can be found below, as well as a summary leaflet aimed at parents/guardians and school children. Due to the size of the main document it has had to be split into two parts.
