Overview
Hertfordshire County Council in joint partnership with Stevenage Borough Council and North Herts District Council has appointed AECOM (formally Faber Maunsell) to develop an Urban Transport Plan (UTP) for Stevenage. The aim of the UTP is to develop a range of transport schemes for all modes of travel that will solve existing problems and prepare Stevenage for future potential growth.
The Urban Transport Plan
The UTP sets out the proposed transport improvements for Stevenage, initially for the next 5 years, but also the next 5-20 years. The plan is designed to meet local needs whilst also delivering the County Council’s overall transport targets and objectives. The UTP, following consultation, will be adopted by Hertfordshire County Council in its role as transport authority.
