The European Directive 2001/42/EC and central government Local Transport Plan guidance requires Local Authorities to carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) on Local Transport Plans.
Hertfordshire County Council undertook the lengthy and detailed process of carrying out this assessment (which started in September 2004), and the final Environmental Report has now been published. The Environmental Report details the outcomes of the assessments, and shows how the SEA has influenced the development of the Local Transport Plan.

As part of the SEA process, the County Council must produce an annual SEA Monitoring Report, detailing the impacts of any significant environmental impacts from the delivery of LTP2. A monitoring report covering the first year of delivery of LTP2 (2006/07) has been produced and is available below.
