Road safety education for pre-school/nursery

Streetwise is a practical child pedestrian skills training for playgroups, nurseries and reception classes using simulated road layouts. It is a child centred activity, which identifies and builds on the child's knowledge and understanding rather than makes assumptions about what they know. Parents/carers are invited to attend this session to find out how to put appropriate road safety messages across to their children.

We can assist leaders and teachers by showing them how road safety can be incorporated into topics and themes and matched to the areas of learning that need to be achieved. We have a booklet called 'First Steps in Road Safety' that contains useful road safety information for those working with the early years.
