Cycle instructor training courses

We organise training courses for our own instructors. We are an accredited National Standard Cycle Instructor Training Provider and also have places available for people from other authorities.

The training consists of a four day course followed by at least 2 mentoring sessions. It covers both the theory and practice of delivering the National Standards.

Aim of this course

To create professional cycle training instructors.

Outcomes

After the course these instructors will be able to

  • Give a range of cycle instruction from teaching a complete beginner to advanced on-road riding as described in Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the National Standard
  • Train adults and children
  • Run set courses for Hertfordshire County Council or their own Authority
  • Organise one or more training session to suit their own client's individual needs
  • Take suitable precautions to ensure that training is carried out as safely as possible
  • Understand the need for certain documentation

The cost is £450 and the next courses are on the 20th/21st/27th/28th January 2010 in St Albans and
15th-18th February 2010 in Stevenage
