On Tuesday this week I attended the Speed Awareness Course at the Jarvis Ramada, Hatfield.  I was extremely impressed with the course - as were the other attendees.  The theory session was interesting and very useful, and the practical (driving) session was wonderful!  It has taught me things I really needed to know - in particular, the proper use of the gears - and will, I am sure, help me to avoid speeding in the future.  I know that many counties do not provide this practical training, and I am very glad indeed that Hertfordshire does provide it.  Well done!  This is a real contribution to road safety.

I am full of praise for its high quality of presentation and information regarding Speed Awareness.  The whole direction of the Course was most supportive – I did expect it to be confrontational – so was pleasantly surprised at the tenor of it.

Having recently attended a Speed Awareness course in Hatfield, I am writing to let you know how valuable the Practical Driving course was, the theory was very interesting but actually going out on the road with Advanced Instructors was very helpful with lots of practical advice that I can use for the future.  I am aware that other Councils do not provide the Practical Driving course but I feel it would be a shame if Herts CC were to drop the driving part of the Speed Awareness Course.
