Each day there are 4.5 million journeys in Hertfordshire. Travel experts predict that within the next 20 years this figure could have grown by a third or more. Could we be facing gridlock? Not if we can help it.

TravelWise is the transport awareness initiative pioneered by Hertfordshire and now adopted nationally as the National TravelWise Association. It aims to change peoples attitude to the use of their cars. The campaign seeks to make other methods of transport, such as cycling, walking and using public transport a real alternative to the car.
