Statement of community involvement

The County Council is required by legislation to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The SCI sets out the council's policy for the involvement of communities in relation to:
  • the preparation and revision of minerals and waste development documents; and

  • consideration of planning applications for which Hertfordshire County Council is the planning authority (i.e. all planning applications relating to mineral extraction and waste management as well as development for County Council services such as schools, libraries etc.).

Hertfordshire County Council's SCI will be the document which the public can use to find out how and at what stage the County Council plans to engage with communities in relation to the above activities.

Hertfordshire County Council's SCI was adopted in November 2006.
