Effects on wildlife

Lighting does have an effect on wildlife and plants, in general the ‘whiter’ the light source the greater the effect it has on the nocturnal patterns of insects, mammals, fish and other wild life. Where lighting is required then it should be well controlled with consideration, where possible, to either a curfew or reducing lighting levels at times when the area is not in public use.
