Definitive statements

The Definitive Statement is closely linked to the Definitive Map and contains written descriptions of the paths shown on the map.

Each path within a parish has a number which identifies it in the Definitive Statement and on the Definitive Map.

You should use the Statement in conjuntion with the Map, which you can find at your local library, or order an extract for your area from the County Council.

The Definitive Map and Statement is continually changing as legal orders are made and confirmed. However, these changes will not be reflected in copies of these documents available to the public until they are republished. Any changes made since the Map and Statement were last published can be checked with the Rights of Way Unit.
