Sustainable transport in rural areas project

STRAP is a project which recognizes that rural Areas have specific traffic management problems and issues to address.

It is a three year research and development project of Hertfordshire County Council and the Countryside Agency and is based in the St Albans Rural Area.

STRAP has the aim to develop an understanding of the existing travel patterns within the St Albans Rural Area and will introduce a community based and agreed programme that will help to reduce travel by car within the area.

STRAP looks to understand the local transport network and to raise awareness and encourage the use of alternatives to the car.
