Rural proofing the LAA & RSCP business plan

On 25th November 2005 the Herts Rural Forum and the Community Development Agency for Herts held a joint event:

  • to help identify the rural dimensions of the emerging priorities contained within the draft Local Area Agreement, and
  • to consult on the draft business plan being prepared for Hertfordshire's bid for funding under Defra's Rural Social Community Programme.

The event provided delegates with the opportunity to hear more about both processes and to influence them at a key stage in their development.

In respect of the Rural Social Community Programme the feedback and comments from delegates will be fed into the final business plan which will be submitted to Government Office by December 12th.

In relation to the Local Area Agreement the feedback will flag up where different interventions may be necessary in rural Hertfordshire and will be included within the second draft of the Local Area Agreement when it is submitted to the Government office for the East of England in early December.

A report summarising the outputs of the event is attached below.
