Herts Rural Social & Community Programme

environmental land management Defra’s new Rural Social and Community Programme (RSCP) streamlines previous Countryside Agency and Defra programmes and aims to make them simpler and more flexible for customers i.e. rural communities and parish councils. The specific aims of the programme are:
  • To enhance the community capacity building and entrepreneurial capability of rural communities so that those communities can work together to shape their own future
  • To help socially excluded individuals in rural communities improve their life chances
  • To develop the capacity of the voluntary and community sector, and of the town and parish council sector, too reinforce the delivery of the first two aims.
Hertfordshire’s RSCP Partner Group submitted a business case that identified local priorities for action against these aims. The links below give you more details about the four key priority areas for the Herts RSCPP:
