If you are disabled, chronically sick, have sight or hearing problems or are of pensionable age, you can apply to be included on your energy supplier's Priority Service Register.

This will entitle you to:

• Annual gas safety checks
• Special controls and adaptors
• Help if supplies are disrupted
• Large print bills and information
• A password scheme to protect against bogus callers

To register, telephone your supplier using the number on the back of your last energy bill.
