As a parent, or would-be parent, with a disability you may need extra help with the pressures of bringing up children. This may be in the form of childcare or social activities for your child, as well as social or support groups where you can discuss issues with others in a similar situation.
Children with disabilities are children first, and the services needed will be the same as for any other child. However, you may need extra help to get the most out of such general mainstream provision. There may also be specialist services that your child needs, or additional benefits to help your family.
