Makaton Beginners Course

INTENDED AUDIENCE Any one who cares for children who communicate using Makaton sign language e.g. Shared Care Workers, Foster Carers, Adoptive Parents, Parents, School Workers, Social Workers etc.

Aim This is a two day course taught over four half day sessions. By the end of the 2 day workshop comprising of four modules delegates will be able to:

- Recognise Makaton’s place in the signing world
- Outline what Makaton is
- Use signs and symbols effectively
- Discuss and develop teaching methods for using Makaton signs and symbols
