What happens after an Inquest?

The Coroner will issue an after inquest form, stating the verdict and containing the other information required for registration purposes, directly to the Registrar who will then register the death. The family do not need to attend the office to register the death, this is automatically completed by the Coroner once the inquest is closed. The relatives will be advised of the Register Office involved with address and telephone number. They will need to contact the office direct to obtain copies of the death certificate for which there will be a fee.
