Monks Walk Youth Project is open to all young people aged between 13-19 years old. You do not have to be a pupil at Monks Walk School to attend.
Young people are able to take part in a range of activities from sports, art and craft to drama. They are able to learn and discuss issues which are important to them such as health, drugs, education, bullying, peer pressure etc.
Young people come to the project because they want to take part in the planned activities, hang out with their peers and make new friends. Their activities can lead to recognition and accreditation. You can have fun and learn something new at the same time!
Youth workers help young people to have a say in how the project is run and what activities they would like to do.
The project is also open on a Wednesday night for young people aged 11 and 12. Senior members who have been trained run the project and this is overseen by youth workers.
There are no specific facilities for young people with disabilities. However, the project welcomes all participants regardless of cultural background or disability. It should be noted that the building is on two levels and is not fully accessible to wheelchairs.
Parent/affiliated organisation: Youth Connexions Hertfordshire.
