Queen Mother Theatre (Hitchin)

The Theatre is situated in Woodside Car Park, Walsworth Road, Hitchin and is the home of the Bancroft Players (see separate entry).

There are two areas available for hire as follows:- Celebration parties (birthdays, weddings), religious and political bookings are NOT accepted. Business conferences are welcome.

The Theatre:
Seats 171 people. Seating is retractable for floor events. Dressing rooms and technical support are as would be expected for a theatre. Box office, bar and interval refreshments facilities are provided. The theatre is fairly soundproof and equipped with appropriate sound and lighting. Catering can be arranged.

The Studio:
The Studio room is about 8 metres square and is available for classes.

Costs:
Theatre hire is typically around £250.00-£300.00 per day with all facilities provided.
Studio hire is £12.00 per hour or £80.00 per day.

Directions:
Theatre is in the corner of a large car park approximately half way between the railway station and St Mary's Church on the Letchworth-Stevenage road.

Accessibility:
Good disabled parking, a well-lit car park and entrance, wheelchair ramp; some automatic and wide doors; toilet for the disabled; hearing loop. Accessible to a wheelchair user travelling with assistance.

Facilities:
Large car park for which there is no charge after 6.30pm.
