Watford Palace Theatre re-opened in September 2004 following a two year refurbishment programme. The Edwardian Grade II listed building, originally built in 1908, has undergone a major refit to improve facilities for audience members, staff and visiting performers.
As well as being a very popular local theatre, Watford Palace Theatre offers a very different experience. The plays are all produced specifically for Watford so audiences are always seeing something brand new. Top quality productions have ensured the venues excellent reputation, both regionally and nationally. Productions, starting at Watford, have gone on national tour as well as transfering to London's West End.
The Theatre is a focus for arts and creativity for the people of Watford, Hertfordshire and beyond and offers a comprehensive education and participation programme. The theatre continues to programme new writing alongside classic drama, musicals and panto. To join the theatre's mailing list, contact the Box Office.
