Capel Manor Gardens and estate, provides a colourful inspiration and scented oasis surrounding a Georgian Manor House and Victorian Stables. It is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes at Greater London's only specialist College of Horticulture, Floristry, Garden Design, Arboriculture, Animal Care and Countryside Studies and take away fresh ideas for your own garden.

Attractions include:

  • 30 acres of richly planted theme gardens including the Historical Gardens, an Italianate Maze and our Japanese Garden to namea few
  • The National Gardening Centre with specially designed gardens, including Sunflower Street
  • The Jungle Gym Garden designed by former student Kim Wilde, The Hessayon Centre (our Visitors Centre) with garden gift shop and plant sales in summer season
  • Refreshments in our Terrace Restaurant serving an enticing range of hot and cold food
  • Animal corner and stableyard
  • Leisure gardening classes
  • A full and varied programme of shows and events
  • Volunteer groups
  • Free parking.

Costs - April to October (2008):
Adults £6.00
Concessions £5.00
Children £3.00 (children under 5 free)
Family £15.00

November-March: Special winter rate, please phone for details.

Opening Times:
March to October - open daily 10.00am to 6.00pm (last ticket at 4.30pm).
November to Febuary - Weekdays (check times and winter holidays).

Directions:
By bus: take the 317 or 217 to the junction of Bullsmoor Lane and the A10, and then you have a 5 minute walk to reach the centre.
By train: the nearest stations are Waltham Cross or Turkey Street.
By car: Junction 25 on the M25. There is free parking.

Accessibility:
Disabled access around most of the estate. Free wheelchair and motorised scooter loan (please book).
