This is Britain's national museum of international modern art (1900 to the present day). It is housed in the former Bankside Power Station. There is also a full range of special exhibitions and a programme of public events.

There are two entrances:
* The West Entrance is on Holland Street. Entry is via a ramp which extends down into the Turbine Hall and Level 1. A flight of steps with a handrail runs alongside the ramp. Access to the rest of the gallery is via escalator, lifts and staircase;

* The North Entrance is located either side of the chimney and is reached via the river walkway. This leads directly to Level 2 from which there are lifts and staircase to all floors.

Entry for wheelchairs, prams and buggies is via the North Entrance, or via the Cafe Entrance situated next to the West Entrance ramp.

Catering Facilities:
Cafe on Level 2, open same hours as the building (last orders half hour before the gallery closes).
Espresso bar on Level 4 open daily 10.00am-6.00pm.
Restaurant on Level 7 open daily for lunch; and for evening meals on Fridays and Saturdays (last orders/entrance half hour before the gallery closes).
Bar on Level 7 open similar hours to the building.
Kiosk outside north entrance open daily 11.00am-5.00pm.

Costs: Admission free to main collection but charges for temporary exhibitions. Donations and support are very welcome.

Opening Hours:
* Sunday to Thursday 10.00am-6.00pm;
* Friday and Saturday 10.00am-10.00pm;
* Galleries open at 10.00am.

Directions:
* Tube: Southwark (Jubilee Line) and Blackfriars (District and Circle Lines) are less than ten minutes walk away;
* Bus: 45, 63, 100, 381, 344, RV1;
* Train: Thameslink to Blackfriars and London Bridge;
* Taxi or Dial-A-Ride: to West Entrance on Holland Street.

Accessibility: Disabled parking spaces (call 020 7887 8888). Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs welcome. Lifts to all levels. Six wheelchairs and 2 electric scooters available for visitors, and can be booked in advance (call 020 7887 8888). Programmes and services for visitors with disabilities. Fully accessible toilets are located on each floor.
