Welwyn Hatfield Action on Disability (WHAD)

This organisation is run by volunteers, some of whom have disabilities. If you would like to join the team of voluntaries you can do so by contacting the Chairman, Mr Len Carron on 01707 325668.

They want drivers and escorts in cars or minibus, a fundraiser with ideas and enthusiasm and also a transport organiser. The transport organiser would organize, usually by telephone and/or email, drivers and escorts to pick up members and take them to the monthly social club. Also would arrange with Welwyn and Hatfield CVS, minibus hire and training for new minibus drivers.

WHAD offers:
* social clubs;
* birthday visiting;
* provide grants towards equipment, driving lessons and holidays;
* keep in touch with disabled people;
* issue half yearly newsletters.
