The office aims to help people with particular transport problems - especially the elderly, people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties and people with mental health problems. They also help those who are unable to use public transport or afford taxis.
Office opening hours: Monday to Friday from 1.00pm-3.00pm.
Volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide the service. Fees have been calculated to help cover the driver's cost and administration. Most of the sum charged is returned to the driver to pay for the petrol and to help towards vehicle running cost. The small balance goes towards office expenses (telephone bills and postage etc). Please contact the office if you would like to volunter.
The charges vary from 44p a mile for the driver's whole journey from leaving home to returning. Waiting time is not charged but, if excessive, for local journeys it may be necessary for the driver to make a double journey which will be charged accordingly.
Invoices are sent at the end of each month.
