The hospital shuttle bus service to Chase Farm hospital in north London has been available for residents in the Borough of Broxbourne since April 2007. The service has recently been extended to serve the QEII in Welwyn Garden City, the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, and Barnet Hospital. The Borough Council and Herts Integrated Transport Partnership are funding the door to door transport service, which is run by the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service in order to provide improved transport links to acute hospitals for local residents.
The service picks up residents who have made a booking from their home and drops them off at the relevant clinic at the hospital. Return journeys from Chase Farm are from the Clocktower building on the hospital site. Passengers are picked up from individual clinics at the other hospitals. To book, residents simply need to phone 01992 640322. The service is available to all Borough residents, but in the event of over-booking priority will be given according to need.
