Samaritans (National)
Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential and emotional support to anyone who needs emotional support or may be at risk of suicide. Samaritans aims to provide society with a better understanding of suicide and the value of expressing feelings that may lead to suicide.
In 2007 there were 202 branches in the UK and Eire, 17,000 volunteers and 5 million contacts.
Samaritans is a registered charity, founded in 1953.
