The Samaritans has a telephone manned 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You can also visit any day or evening, from 10.00am-9.00pm. We also offer an email service.
The service is free, confidential and non judgmental. They will not give advice but will give emotional support to anyone, young or old, who may be going through any sort of crisis (anxiety, depression, loneliness etc) or is suicidal.
The Samaritans consists of unpaid volunteers. Each branch runs its own preparation classes for potential volunteers which may include role-playing (volunteer and caller) and time for discussion.
The South West Herts Branch covers: Watford, Borehamwood, Rickmansworth, Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans area.
