Formed in 1965, HCYC offers something for everyone, from the casual sailor to the serious racing enthusiast. There are facilities for non-sailing members of the family, including a fenced adventure play area, spacious grass areas with picnic tables and swings and a covered veranda.
* Fleet and handicapped racing: takes place on Sundays throughout the season, Bank Holidays and some Saturdays;
* Casual sailing: any time except Sunday mornings when the above racing takes place;
* Family racing: usually organised for members on Sunday afternoons;
* Juniors: have their own Fleet Captain and Fleet Championship day and they take an active part with the adults in the general racing programme. The club has 6 Toppers, 6 Oppies and 2 Lasers available for their free use in casual sailing or racing;
* Team racing: worked on a seeding system to provide even and competitive racing.
Training courses: run at the club by members who are qualified instructors to RYA certificate standards.
Other activities include social events (e.g. fireworks display, fish and chip suppers), and sailing away days.
Affiliated to: Royal Yachting Association East Region.
