Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Wednesday from 4.30pm (April to end September)
Every weekday of the school holidays 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Dinghy Sailing and Powerboat Courses take place at Easter, Whitsun, August, Thursday evenings (May-July) and on Saturdays in November. Winter series racing takes place on Sundays (October-March, 10.00am -1.00pm).
The club is a registered charity and a voluntary organisation dedicated to the development of young people through the medium of sailing. It is operated by volunteer instructors and has a fleet of more than 80 dinghies.
Each year some 3,500 young people (mostly aged between 9 and 24) are taken onto the water. The club is a recognised training centre of the Royal Yachting Association, which demands a high standard of safety and quality of teaching.
The club is authorised by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).
Individuals and families who have learned to sail can apply for membership. Schools and youth organisations can apply for group affiliation. BLYM is pleased to accommodate those with disabilities.
Costs (2007):
Individual adult membership £50.00 per annum.
Family membership £75 per annum.
Group membership £80 per annum (small groups £40; large £150).
Student membership £20 per annum (18-24-year-olds).
Instruction £15-£25 per day.
