The aim of the Association is to provide netball for all who wish to play, officiate and administrate in the county, irrespective of age, ethnicity or ability.
Significantly, netball is one of the key sports in the Active Herts Sports Partnership which offers Skill Award Days, local Coaching Centres, Netball Acadenies for the talented, officials and coaching courses.
Today the association has over 2,200 participants affiliated through 165 clubs belonging to 10 senior leagues and 4 junior leagues, plus around 130 senior and 15 primary schools. There is also a Sport Partnership with the emerging school Sports Partnership across Herts.
There are 10 winter leagues in the Association. These are: Herts County League; Welwyn/Hatfield League; Broxbourne League; Turnford League; S.W. Herts League; Hertford League; Hemel Hempstead League; St Albans League; Bishops Stortford League; Watford League. There is also a number of summer leagues. In addition there is one High Five league for the under 11s, with more to follow.
Playing levels include local, county and national netball, from age 9 upwards, and there are growing club/school links which provide pathways for continuing netball beyond school. Development plans include a minimum of one Under 11 league, one 11 to 16 league and one open league in each of the 10 local authorities in Hertfordshire.
Coaching and umpiring courses are available through the leagues.
