Hatfield Netball Club exists to provide the opportunity for girls and women in the area to play and enjoy netball. We encourage and support all our members to achieve their full potential not only as netballers but also as umpires and coaches.
The club was formed in 1990 by Lyn Jackson and England coach, Gill Oliver. The current chairman is Janice Darling who has been involved in netball for over 25 years.
Since 1991 the junior section has trained at Birchwood Leisure Centre in Hatfield. Each year we hold a junior league and tournament and enter other local junior leagues. Hatfield Netball Club has enjoyed great success in these leagues.
In September 2006 the youth section was formed under the very experienced guidance of Senior Youth Coach, Lesley Chapman. The girls join the youth section as soon as they are old enough to play senior leagues. The girls train on a Tuesday at Stanborough School.
The senior section is run by former chairman, Wendy Pugh. There are currently 10 teams that play in various senior leagues throughout the County. Lots of our senior members are previous junior members who have come up through the club or are returning from university etc.
Hatfield Netball Club is proud of its achievements and the service it provides to the community. The Club has achieved its Silver Clubmark Award from Sport England and is working hard to make netball available to all who want to play.
Date of AGM: October.
