Aims of the Club:
* to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding;
* to provide instruction in riding and horsemastership and to instil in members the proper care of their animals;
* to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, so cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
There are 347 branches of The Pony Club in the UK, 6 of which are in Hertfordshire. Each branch covers a specified area of the country. Branches are self-contained and are administered by a voluntary district commissioner assisted by a voluntary branch local committee.
The Pony Club is the largest association of riders in the world. It is in 15 countries and has a membership of over 104,500.
The Pony Club is a Registered Charity.
Costs: Membership of a branch is £50.00 per year;
Membership of a centre is £20.00 per year.
Membership is open to boys and girls up to 25 years old.
Membership ends in the December of the year in which a member becomes 25.
