CTC (The Cyclists Touring Club) is the UK's largest cycling membership organisation formed in 1878 it represents and promotes all kinds of leisure cycling. It has 70,000 members and affiliates. CTC Edgware is one of over 200 local groups.
CTC Edgware organises Sunday club rides starting at Bushey Heath or Croxley Green and covering Hertfordshire and Bucks. The rides include a morning coffee stop, pub lunch and, daylight permitting, a tea stop.
The distance of rides varies accordinging to the season but a day-ride is usually 50-70 miles.
We also organise weekends away, usually in the UK, but also Northern France.
There is no upper age limit -there are several veteran members who cycle regularly. Care has to be taken with younger people because of the risks on the road. Pre-teens are welcome but only in the company of an adult.
Membership of the CTC can offer a whole host of benefits and services designed to increase your cycling enjoyment. You will receive free third party insurance, legal advice and free bi-monthly colour magazine.
The CTC is campaigning for your rights on safety on and off the road.
