The club meets at Grovehill Community Centre on Monday, Thursdays and Sunday mornings.
The Club teaches Goju Ryu (hard/soft) style Karate for fitness and for effective self-defence. It is open to all ages and both sexes, and aims to train the mind, body and spirit.
Established for 30 years, classes are taken by a 6th Dan instructor with 35 years experience. The club now has several Dan grades. They are keen to attract new students. Beginners of all ages and both sexes are especially welcome.
Sunday mornings are an open session and are great for general fitness training. Some of the students like to run 4 miles or 10 miles for the energetic, others prefer to walk or train in the hall.
The club is unlike any other karate club and is happy to welcome students from other Martial Arts who would like to experience Goju. The club is insured via the BKA. The members are all very friendly and we enjoy an active social life.
If you are interested in a fascinating way of life, getting fit and learning how to look after yourself we are the club for you.
