Watford Indoor Bowls Club

Watford Indoor Bowls Club opened its doors in February 1991 having been some ten years in the planning. Such was the demand for indoor bowls in the area, the membership quickly grew to 800. We are now at a comfortable level of around 600 and there is plenty of rink space for all types of play.

Our bowlers range from those who enjoy a social roll-up followed by a snack in our restaurant or a drink at the bar, to both men and women who represent the County in cup and trophy matches. Our men have won the County League on numerous occasions.

In addition to these high-level games we have friendly matches almost every Thursday afternoon as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons. These are relaxed enjoyable affairs, even though each side tries hard to win. Most of these matches are against local outdoor clubs but we also have occasional matches against District and County teams. We also have a number of club competitions which are keenly contested but always with a good spirit.
